Eliminate The Act
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
No matter how tempting,
A doing of it may be.
Eliminate the act.
Before and not after consciously.
To immediately hold back,
The taking for granted anyone.
That displays their concern.
And respect to give.
Making this known to be shown.
Since...
There are not too many,
Claiming they had gone out of their way...
To greet someone,
Once to have met to meet cheerfully.
With this done to do to then accept,
Being disrespectfully treated for no reason.
By another who acts as if,
Delivering their B.S. to receive and get.
Purposely to believe,
Whatever they do...
Should be forgotten to forget remembered.
And...
The only possibility for this to occur.
Is if there had been a reasonable explanation.
Like...
A recovery miraculously,
Either from awakening to have had amnesia.
Or an urgent life threatening brain surgery.
Making it difficult,
For someone who has lived...
Healed.
And mending still from this experience.
Leaving them unable,
In their mind to remember...
The when, where and why,
For everything that happened.
Or even the face,
Of another they deliberately disgraced.
This is a valid excuse to use to get empathy.
'You had what?'
'I was told it was amnesia.'
'By who?
Gee.
No one informed me.'
'My doctor.
My doctor claims...
Everytime I am mailed his bill,
I seem repeatedly to refuse...
Remembering,
Calling him to have my medications refilled!'
'Uh...huh?
I wish you had not told me that.
Since that what you chose to do,
Absolutely makes no sense to me.'
'My doctor said the same thing.
Then told me I must have amnesia.
So I agreed.
Afterall...
He knows more about that stuff than I do.'
'Yeah!
Hmmm.
Especially,
When he is not pretending to be...
A professional at what he does.'
'I don't understand,
What it is are you trying to say!
I have lapsing reoccurences?'
'That too.
And signs of a selective memory.
You know...
There comes a time,
When a forgiveness to give it,
Is not worth the act...
To believe it should not have been done.
The moment too late to take it back.
'Oh?
So...
What now are you accusing me of?'
'Me?
I am not the one,
Professionally recovering from anything.'
'I...
Huh?
What?'
'Conveniently,
I will forget what I said!'
