Love Untitled

I said I would put my feelings in a poem,
As I put the words together to say to you,
I feel like I am alone.
I feel as if I have known you for more than the time being,
Since day one, you have had my attention,
I want you to know you mean the world to me.
Besides God, my family, and some of my good friends,
You’re the first person I think of when I wake up and last person before I go to bed,
There’s not a day go by where you’re not in the back of my head.
Although we don’t talk as much as I would like us to,
I still find myself missing you.
They say you can’t miss something you never had,
But I’ve missed you from two years ago,
And everyday, like forever more.
I can not give you what you need,
I know you understand my situation,
And I truly thank you for respecting me.
I did not want to do this over a message,
But face to face instead,
Seems as though our paths don’t cross as much,
So here’s my passage.
I thank you for your sweet spirit, kindness, and gentleness,
The no judgment zone,
And most of all, your honesty.
I fear telling you this because I don’t want to push you away,
But ultimately, nothing can make you stay.
I told you when we first met, that I felt something different with you,
That’s all so true,
I’m following my heart, and not the opinions of others,
But I never got over you.
I see all the signs that tells me we’re not meant to be,
But my heart speaks a different language to me.
I don’t normally do this, but for awhile now,
it’s been weighing on my heart,
I can be sad or in an unhappy space,
I would see your name or your picture,
And that’d put me in a better place.
I don’t know at what point or when,
But somewhere in the beginning,
I started to love you.
Although, that has not gone away,
I still want you to be apart of my life.
Outside of everything else,
Being happy in general, one of my prayers were for you to be happy,
Even if that’s being happy without me.

About this poem

It’s plain and simple, love with no title. We both have love for each other and strong feelings, but sadly can’t be together.
