Platonic caves

Ronald Tirino 1962 (NYC)

Platonic caves
ephemeral distortions of change
where surreal grounding melts

Grasping for meaning
mankind left wayside alone in silence
amidst the living corpses

Reaching out to the emptiness
of brave new worlds
layers of contradicting shadows
and schemes of decay lay dormant

Morality disappears into morphing urbanity
in a postmodern virtual normality of plasticity
language and ideas
that bind the structures of form break down

Maladapted to the distracted distortions
of constructed noise
alienated from the selfless ego of truth
to the conditioned responses that echo from the empty
chambers of dialogue

Through blind paths and dead alleys of deception
leave us face to face naked to ourselves
  stripped of the artifice  crutches
  of manipulation and denial

There is life
the seed and breath of cosmic oceans
vibrating rhythms that bind the universe
In the present tense of our senses
