The Wicklow Miners

The miners that labored in every Wicklow mine,
Who harrowed and toiled in their life’s timeline,
For each one’s family and security was their strife,
They endured the hardship of the mines for most of their life.

Miners hailed from Wicklow and lands near and far,
They mined underground and surface, filling every ore car,
Each plied their craft and with experience grew,
From each task they performed and challenges anew.

The Wicklow Miner was made hardy by the work,
Who Adapted to the hardship and the risks that it took,
Find the lode, mine the ore, mill and refine,
The mining cycle repeated at every mine.

The miners from Wicklow are renowned quite afar,
Reaching their zenith like a far distant star,
Miners true to their comrades regardless of race,
Not shirking their duties nor failing in disgrace.
