ANGER

Katlyn Schirard 1990 (Naples, Florida)

Ode

Anger, can't make it cease.

My anger is too strong.  I hate it.  I love it.  I need it.

It must go.  Save me.  Leave me.  Let me.

My happiness feeds it.  To leave it, I must suffer.

It's too great, too powerful.

Why must I go through it?

It's a being within itself, torturing, tormenting, freeing, saving.

Letting me suffocate fresh air.

It hurts.  It helps.  When I'm in pain, it turns me sane.

Only inside can I feel it.  Only in caring eyes is it seen.

Not wanting to show it, can't help reveal it.

Mind's anger.
Heart's anger.
The anger.
My anger.
