Time

Seasons change and life seems an endless journey
And though we sometimes wish otherwise,
Life ceases but time ticks by unceasing.
And oh, the rain pours down unexpectedly
When just a wink ago, the sun was blazing,
And who knows what might happen next
When life is full of surprises in betwixt.
We witness the dawn break into new hopes
And watch the nightfall with smiles or grimaces,
But who knows what tomorrow will bring
When all that's certain, time's a-changing.
We suffered some losses, got drunk for winning
We laugh our hearts in passion, cry our eyes in pain
'Cause life is unpredictable, nothing stays the same.
Sadness is fleeting just like how happiness passes fast
'Cause time is eternal but our life is not.

About this poem

The poem is inspired by a friend who challenged me to write about the passing of time, things changing.
