Cowardly

Cowardly
Living in a world infused with racial disparity
Feeling a lifetime of pain
Will this world ever be free
From the lies and justification of those who want to blame

Jews, Asians,or blacks because of white supremacy?
Living in fear because others do not like the color of someone else’s skin
Killing others because we are different is cowardly.
When will the healing begin.

Too many victims and families who are suffering.
We are human beings who deserve to live free.
There can be no more postering by our politicians saying words that make good sound bites with a hollow ring
While the news reports of the daily killing spree.

Hate crimes are not new to the USA.
Too many people dying because of the disparity.
We can end racial hatred today
I thought our Declaration of Independence stated that “all men are created equal” in the land of the free.

I remember how United we all were when 9/11 rocked our humanity.
How, as a country we bonded against an attack prompted by terrorists.
Living in a world filled with bigotry
White supremacist are now the antagonist

Looking back in our own history.
Some people in power want to gloss over the way other races we treated.
Let us embrace unity.
While we work to ensure bigotry is defeated!
