Rush

30 minutes
To turn in
300 missing assignments

1 hour of a nap
To turn into
6 hours of sleep

It’s midnight
Where you’re a fool
To still think
You’re going to do

Something

You don’t have the guts
To do what you’ve promised

And so
You stay up

I’ll do it at
1 am
1:30
2 am
3:30
4 am

And eventually
It’s 7

Despite the fact
You’ve been awake
You somehow manage
To be late all the time
To the point

You don’t care anymore

But there’s still that rush
When you wake up

Realizing you’ve overslept
And part of you
Still believes
That you can do

Something

About this poem

Rush is about the anxiety and stress you recieve from procrastination, and the small bit of hope that you will get through it.
