Grayscale Rainbows

We entered our homes expecting life
But all we found was the same damn strife.
We hoped to hug our newlywed
But the tea was cold, the fire was dead.
We stood there, our pride torn apart
Where we hoped would be, our brand new start.
Our flags so bright, now flags of shame
With the ways of old being the ones to blame.
