The Day I Die

Soon my time will come, today I made a grave mistake.
Earlier that morning, I slept in too late.
I forgot to do my homework, due to me procrastinating.
I walk out of my room, my parents say they saw something fascinating.
They were looking at my grades staring me down to my soul.
At that moment I was sad, knowing I will not get to grow old.
You hear yelling and screaming; the weapons of the crime.
It’s time I say goodbye because now it’s my time to die.
