She’ll never forget it

As she put away laundry and picked up toys,
She began to cry surrounded by sorrow and no joys.
Her kids were gone for the weekend, and people often told her take time for herself,
They really didn’t realize, her kids are all she has there’s no one else.
Even when times were rough and the job of mom is hard,
Her life is nothing like a hall mark card.
She tries to find peace as her life began to unfold, everyone else gave their stories, but hers is still untold.
The abuse she had endured and the trauma she has sunk in her head,
She wondered sometimes if she was better off dead.
By the end of the weekend her her sons are back, she keeps a smile on even when she’s attacked.
Her kids are all she lives for and the only thing that keeps her going,
So as she keeps a smile on her face she makes sure no tears are showing.
She’s good at masking it, she does it well,
She’s done it for years, even though she’s been through hell.
Her kids are all she has and doesn’t regret it,
She knows they saved her life and she’ll never forget it.

About this poem

This poem has had me thinking about everything I’ve gone through and been through. I know I’m not the only mama who’s gone through this so others relating to this will know they aren’t alone
