The Words
The words were out
Before I could stop myself
They weren't the words
I thought they would be
But they were words none-the-less
Built up after so many years of hurt
You hurt me, you lied to me
You betrayed me
Betrayed my trust
I loved you so deeply
I loved you so much
You manipulated my feelings
For your own selfish means
What did you want me to do?
Sit there and take it?
Again, and again and again
Oh! I know I cut you deeply
With those words
But those weren't the words
I intended to say
But they were words none-the-less
Oh! They were words!
About this poem
It's about a relationship and how words are never what they seem.
