Spring in Carolina

Steven Kradas 1973 (Hartford)

The wind wrestles the newly bloomed bright green leaves, a new season has arrived

The suborned dorment limbs below them that survived the winter fail to surrender

Birds are abound as the mountain laurels bloom, a reminder of my birthplace

The sky is Carolina blue with puffy clouds enhancing the glory of the hue amongst the clearings

The warmth is plentiful this time of year and unusual from my upbringing, a new place is home
