My Sacred Place

Tumbling through the town of Mayodan from a pure Virginia spring, runs a river called the Mayo,a clear, free flowing stream. There upon familiar banks,my Father meets with me....I never fail to find Him there,in all His majesty...By hallow boughs and braches there,I find sweet calm and peace... Yes, there upon the ambling tide, my fears and worries flee... There close by the rivers edge, I find my inner being... Within the unmatched beauty there, my Father plainly speaks....He bathes me there in Sunshine on fragrant days of spring..He soothes me there in birdsong, there upon the wing....He recharges and refreshes me, with a summers breeze...He whispers there through brilliant shades of colored Autumn leaves... He clothes Himself in pureness, with crisp, clean snow and sleet...He comes down as most and rain, and with the fog retreats.... He approaches through the thunder as in the days of old... He walks upon the water there, constant as the flow... He speaks great words of wisdom as He restores my soul...Yes, abundant is God's presence on the Mayos Sandy shoals..
