The Lord Forever

Since childhood a time remembered when
I' ve been taught to tread the path of virtue
In dire straits to pray, so says my parents;
The Lord gracious He is, always to my rescue.
The steps of life, amidst tricky flights;
Keep me falling over and over, time and again;
The goals I've set, which seems out of sight;
The Lord, loving He is, help me to attain
The successes achieved, never once dedicated;
Is but a fruit, showered upon heavenly votive;
The blessings bestowed, never once consecrated;
The Lord, forgiving He is, never he'd reprieve
The moral obligations neglected quotidian;
The pseudo-devotions, a hectic compulsion;
The distracted mind invaded by martians;
The Lord merciful He is, forever the forgiver.
