My Life As I See It

Lynette A. Inch 1973 (Santa Cruz,)

My life as I see it, is simply just that,
life is good all the time, and if it gets bad I adapt,
Your life is what you make it, no if's, and's, or but's,
To live peaceful with others, peace from within is a must,
I have only one rule, of life that I live by,
My simple quote is, until the day that I die,
To respect myself, as I do,
Treat others the way, you'd want them to treat you,
We've known the right way, and still do if you see,
If you open your eyes, you will set your soul free,
As the old saying goes, just live and let live,
In life I believe, you get what you give,
So if your eyes have been open, really focus and then look,
You'll then see before you, the same text, the same book,
If we read we will learn, what we've already been told,
For wisdom takes time, and no other book is as old,
If we open the Bible and open our minds,
we'll then see inside us, the truth we will find,
We can have the best of both worlds I know,
Just shine like an angel now, and soon heaven we'll know...

About this poem

I wrote this poem after my father died, to simply help myself understand why did he have to die so young, and to help me understand what reason I would have to carry on living, myself.
