Start from betrayal

Victoria semon 1988 (Glens falls New York)

The crippling feeling entered my body.
I couldn't stand nor speak knowing adultry.
The memories flowing in as lies.
The hurt and pain internalized.
Betrayed by the love held so dear,
my skin quenched by a single tear.
The reality was cold and dark.
A new journey to embark.
The territory is so unfamiliar.
Thought you were mine, until her.
The following months filled with sorrow.
Always praying for a better tomorrow.
The love we share, so strong but tainted.
Our relationship, all but wasted.
The problems were now ours to hold.
Continuing the story, still untold.
The choice to make a fresh start,
believing our family should not part.

About this poem

This poem came from my darkest of days. It was the hardest thing I have ever dealt with and still am but I learned a great deal about who I am.
