Resisting The Storm

Free verse
The rain can’t seem to wash away,
the putrid smell of where the field of roses lay,
and as the clouds continue to drift astray,
The bamboo emerges determined to stay.

Poseidon's trident clashes with the thunderbolt of Zeus
The storm rumbles with the thunder loose,
The golden eagle dives for the nightingale,
Only for it to miss and fail.
