Meekness of Flower

Niranjan sharma. 2002 (Raniganj)

What my shine
Am I confined to the fame ?
If my scent can reach you
don't break me.

Only me is bought in people
Was it limited to those ?
I become useless to them
after some time.

And I'm thrown in the dust
like an unknown.
My beauty is taken away,
breaking me with my fragrances.

My face smiles in pots
which you like very much.
Can decorate me in more posts ?
Because I want to show more beauty.

I'm useless
without plants, without leaves
my beauty blooms in it.
Kindly request you
please don't break me.

About this poem

It is being told through a flower that just as a flower is stripped from its plant, from its leaves and from the branches, its beauty is snatched away by breaking its smiling face. In the same way, when a person gets separated from his loved ones or a particular person, then what happens to his life. That is what this poem is trying to convey.
