Filthy Fabric

The cloth im cut with so
Thick you could make a sweater
For any weather
Sunshine, rain,
These tears don’t stain
They flow with such desdain
The feelings she once had now in dismay
The relationship behind strained
The man she once loved astray
The person she once knew away
But it’s Mel come and play
Mel come and stay
Mel make my day
Mel is tired too.
Mel is new.
Mel is not a reflection of you
But perfection made with intention
After every bridge burned and every road blocked
I learned you can’t really run far
Your destiny catches you no matter what
You hide bits and pieces of you
In crevices and corners
As if they’d take their own form
So as to not conform
We weren’t made to please them
We weren’t made to procreate with them
We weren’t made to bow down to them
I am a goddess in my divine right
It’s time I realize I’m not all light
I like to fight
I hate not being right
When my ego hurts my anger and pride become the worst prize
I never was made to be perfect in your image
But perfect in my own
I am for me to love
I am my greatest gift
I am alchemist with the way I change
I am beautician with how I keep myself
I am model the way I walked in those killer heels for two hours
I am doctor the way I can breathe life into lungs
I am president of my own domain
I am CEO of my own enterprise
I am master creator , teacher healer.
The cloth im cut with so thick you can make a sweater
For any weather
Sunshine or rain.
