The Answer

It was just another day in the world.
The birds chirping earlier in March
But the feeling of delight was not near.
The feeling of having to drive behind an ambulance is horrible
But knowing who’s in it is dreadful
Walking in the ER
Waiting for hours to know the answer
Finally the doors open but not for us
My heart beating out my chest to the floor
Thinking of all the moments that we had together
The doors open again FOR US
Rush to the room waiting for the answer
And all the sudden the world went quite
