My Best Friend

Lazy as a cat, but yet still selfless
Is able to pour her heart and soul into the form of paint on a canvas
A burst of color on the seemingly dark sky above
life would be dull without your passion and without your love
When I first met you, I never knew,
Never knew of the things that you would help me get through

I wanted to say thanks, just so you know
Even through the hard times like now i will always love you so
Remembering the past, smiles and laughs,
Our fun days aren’t over, yet we want the little things to last
As we age our bond only strengthens
And also as I age I realize, in my life, you’re more than just an honorable mention

I always wanted to stay a child
You wanted to be older and live your life mellow and mild
I had a big, maybe unrealistic dream
Your idea of small in comparison to mine was petty
No matter what happens, I will forever promise
Whenever I think of good times, I’ll paint a picture of you in my head like paint on a canvas
