Nerves Before Stage

Watching the dancers do their dance,
Feeling the sensation in their prance,
Music blasting in your ear,
The audience drowns me in fear,
Feeling nervous as the dance comes to an end,
Start to remember the dance and where to begin,
My heart is jumping
The dance will be over and they will call 215,
Watch The dancers finish their dance,
And realize that this is your chance,
The announcer calls the number up,
The audience claps for good luck,
Eyes see the judge,
Almost can’t budge,
Walk on stage ready for the dance
Then you get into your stance.
Breathing heavy
Can’t keep your position steady,
Looking into the crowd
Their applause is very loud,
The heat of the light,
It shines so bright,
My breath is heavier
I move to become steadier,
Then the music plays.

About this poem

This poem is about me having a lot of nerves before performing on a big stage in front of millions of people and 4-5 judges and the nerves and thoughts I have during this event.
