highschool.

high school sucks.
with the boys, and the drama, and the grades
it’s like i’m at one big circus parade surfing by a bunch of baboons
be pretty. be happy. be skinny. be smart. be popular.
be EVERYTHING everybody else wants you to be
but heaven forbid,
not being a size 0
not having clear skin
not having a good home life
not being a teachers pet
cause a “great highschool experience” basically depends on all of those things
so
if you were screwed over (like me for example)
then good freaking luck
you’ll probably end up 40, with 6 different baby daddies, running off of food stamps, in government housing
or
if by some God given miracle
you make it out alive.
alive & successful.
……
as of right now
i’m just focused on the alive part.

About this poem

i wrote this about my experience as a highschool girl. and all the amazing qualities that come with that fact.
