The Life Of Skiing

Oliver Clark 2010 (New Orleans)

  Dear Skiing,

                 From that time
That I skied as a 6-year old, you taught me
How to carve on your beautiful trails
How to hike up your amazing mountains
And when I got my own skis

I fell in love with you
All I ever think about now is winter
And in winter I get to be with you
“Swoosh” I ski to feel the powder on my face,
Feel the grind on my skis
And put my balance to the test

I can do so much now
Like carve down the slopes
Then take a break with
Some hot cocoa
Then go for more skiing
I won’t care if I break bones

I’ll just come right back to you
And get down the slope again
My skis are like a pen to paper
Making my mark on the mountain
And every day I get better
And I will never forget about you

Sincerely, Oliver
