Phantasmagoria

Is this really my reality?
I ask as it all just seems so unreal.
I wonder, is this really just an unreality?
It all just seems so surreal.
My mind seems stuck in a lucid dream state,
the world around me seems like a vivid dreamscape,
and I want out of it all before I get too deep.
I'm paralyzed, and I just want to come out from this waking sleep.
As I become lost in it I feel fear as even I don't seem real.
So can you please make this waking dream real?
Can you clear the sand from my vapid eyes?
Can you tell me what is this tunnel that is my rapid mind?
Where is the delirium leading?
What's at the end of all the dreaming?
Sandman, are you listening or are you sleeping?

About this poem

There's not much to say about this poem that, in my opinion, it doesn't say itself. I wrote it during a time when I was struggling and finishing it helped me get through those struggles. Out of the 100+ poems I've written so far it has remained my favorite.
