Our Growing Love

Our Growing Love

I love you more than ever …
Time and trust have created
A deep closeness between us
That I wouldn’t trade for
Anything in the world.

We shelter each other when
The world outside
Gets too hectic or challenging.

You’re my sounding board and I’m yours,
Because we know each other
Better than anyone else.

We encourage each other,
Are there for each other,
And believe in each other with all our hearts.

I still love remembering
Our first kiss, first date,
And our first whispered, “I Love You.”

But now is even better,
Because our love is the real thing,
The one constant
Through anything we’ve faced.

And as time passes,
Our love will change as it grows,
But it will never grow old in my mind –
Only more beautiful,
Only more meaningful
With every day that we share.

About this poem

I met George, the love of my life, in July 2021. We are planning on spending the rest of our lives together. He is my true soulmate and we are both incredibly grateful and lucky to have found each other.
