Dreams escape me

My lexicon of thoughts deceive me
I think a see you in a reality unknown to me

How do I get by with such fleeting ephemeral
not meant to last but
these sounds are multitimbral

I wake up from a state of ultra-realism
but the conclusion is always surrealism

I hear a beat that turns into a lyric
I write a song without any critics

Delivered to me are amazing wants
but no need to me are the white elephants

I’ve seen it all but recount very little
the colors were staged and the thoughts were so brittle
I saw my paintings hanging on the wall
but the dream was not promised at that time for me
just a vision of what may not ever come to be

Can I give you hug and gaze off into your eyes
It’s mostly enchantment in its usual disguise

Everything is so deep and mysterious
But at the same time nothing seems serious

I do however remember my earliest dream
it was based on a heartbeat that was not even mine
I was just echoing that thump that was pumping before my time

We shared that first dream, well what I mean is you were there
I will always remember your heartbeat plus you kept the locks of my first cut hair
