My Goddess Selene

Denvor Green 2002 (Mandeville, Manchester)

She emerges in all her splendour
While the sun sinks below the sea
Her golden aura displays her grandeur
In all her phases, she remains unique

She strives where darkness flows
Like a flower, she blooms in the night
Graciously dancing in the everglow
Her love shines like a beacon light

My goddess sits among her stars
Each enamoured with her grace
But behind her glory is her scars
And behind the scars, her true face

Though in the shadows thrives fear
Embracing old untold mysteries
She rises majestically without care
As she has been doing for centuries

The night intensifies, so does her allure
She soars higher in the sky, lighting our way
But like her beauty, sweet and pure
She melts to sleep at the break of day
