Just Jots

Born into the unknown
Love don’t live at home
Grew up around abusers and enablers
No wonder me and my vices tight like anaconda grip
Life like a skating rink, all I do is slip
Until I learn my lesson
Fall back to it
Misusing blessings
Tell my baby call the reverend
Been crossed too much to keep it on my body Very unholy, I know I’m sorry
Too high to not be cautious
African American so I can’t move reckless
Cause if I do they'd make a noose my necklace Old black folk talk to me about faith
And what they see through God’s eyes
Blurred vision in mine
Maybe because I turned on TV and seen picket fences but never crossed the line
Seen people wit nines as well but one never touched I

About this poem

Just a free writing of things that came to mind. I tend to let thoughts flow out and call them poems, this happens to be one I would like to share.
