the other side

The crimson light illuminates the view
the only thing I can do,
is stop and admire the hue.

I often stare at the wall of reflection
trying to see if it's really me.
Always wondering what's on the other side of the silver backed River.
"Is this all I can be?"

Ever since life was just a mere pixel
life has been more simple
to grasp.
You weren't there,
but that's okay.
I cut my hair
I like it better this way.

We merely just drifted apart,
ghosts in the same corridor,
skylarks on the same branch,
walker's at the park as the moon light shines so we can see.
I'm happy that I can finally be me.
It's too bad that you can't see.
For we
have drifted so far.
So far that our only passing glances
are through the spider's web.
Our only passing glances
feel dead.

I often wonder what it's like on the other side,
what it's like inside your head
as I try to escape mine.
I hide
in the thoughts my mind create,
distracting myself from the parts I hate.

Never had a proper goodbye.
The payphone was ripped out over night.
Over nights.
Over days.
Over time.
Over on the other side.
