Raindrops
Val Leah Clark 1951 (Calgary)
Raindrops
By Val Leah Clark
Raindrops soaking my skin
dialing a long distance number
humming a song driving along
the road is clear and i am scared
a journey back in time
a journey that i don't want to travel
nerves that come un-ravelled
miles that are travelled
nothing fruitful-can't even sleep at night
toss and turn
it was easy at first but days mix with nights
and tears fall and burn tracks in my mind
please set me free
please let me be
i unchained you
i love you
but set me free
