The Russian Bear in Arms With the Ukraine

Putin and Hitler.
Two European warlords.
Birds of same feathers.
Waging dangerous warfare.
One checked, the other unchecked.

Hitler and Putin.
Both comrades in armed warfare.
Comrades to the core.
The first had his comeuppance.
Putin must also be stopped.

Putin and Hitler.
Both as complex world leaders.
Both with strong egos.
Losing sight of their own strengths.
By their self-centered natures.

History teaches us.
Despite pain and suffering.
Goodness will prevail.
Though evil sometimes triumph.
In time it leads to failure.

Ides of March must come.
For Putin waging warfare.
Now the die is cast.
We pray with strong conviction.
That he will topple quickly.

Too long this warfare.
With Ukraine and Russian Bear.
The world now watches.
With hope this war will soon end.
Too long has been the battle.

With bombs still bursting.
The price of peace is costly.
With children homeless.
By wanton death; destruction.
Slaughter of the innocent.

May all nations strive.
With one accord for justice.
To restore the peace.
In the Ukraine and Russia.
To bring an end to warfare.

So now this prayer:
“Dear Lord, we ask for mercy.
Cease now this horror.
Let wisdom be the guideline.
To change the hearts of leaders.

Lord, hear our prayer.
That leaders will show mercy.
Turn them around, Lord.
To end this bloody madness.
You, their Lord and their Master.”

About this poem

Allies of the Free World, working feverishly hand-in-glove with The United Nations, must swiftly rise to the challenge, and put an end to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the International Community. This poem is a plea for ceasefire at the European theater of warfare.
