The Light of Salvation

Ignorant, I had been all my life;
Unaware my neck was being pressed against a sharp knife.
I admit I was lost in the world's pleasures,
Deeply craving for all its treasures.

I was trapped yet I had no knowledge.
Stuck in a cage thinking I was privileged.
Darkness became my amusement park;
on the rollercoaster of false joy, I rode on endlessly in the dark

This was me before the appearance of the Light.
For my freedom, he put on a real good fight.
The enemy with all the power was no match.
Destruction came upon him with a single touch.

I didn't know about the origin of my hero.
Yet he paid all my debt, now I owe the enemy zero.
My life is now filled with love and unimaginable joy.
Thanks to the Light's father above I can truly enjoy.

Gratitude is the least thing I could offer.
Many say it's enough but I beg to differ.
This light risked everything for my undeserved redemption,
Now I lead others to him because in him there is no rejection.
