Migraine

Christopher A. Facemire 1962 (Madison, IN)

I want to scream, scream out loud.
I want to dance and thrash about.
I want to die and let it all out.

The pressure it builds, so I take the pills.
The pain it throbs inside my head.
My eyes hurt to touch, and blood from my ears.
I weep!

I make a fist, my knuckles bleed, hole in the wall.
The music gets louder, the bass is the beat of my heart.
Is it love, is it hate, this rage, this desire I take?

The pressure it builds, so I take the pills.
The pain it throbs inside my head.
My eyes hurt to touch, and blood from my ears.
I weep!

I want it to end, the blindness it brings.
The hurt it sings, as my sweat pours out on the ground mixed with blood.
I love you she says as she walks out the door.
Not looking back, I break the mirror.

The pressure it builds, so I take the pills.
The pain it throbs inside my head.
My eyes hurt to touch, and blood from my ears.
I weep!

About this poem

I wrote this at my desk at work on February 3rd. Was a Snow Day for our plant but I still had to report. I was listening to music and this came to mind.
