Gods and Goddesses
gods and goddesses
if you’re out there
please help them heal
please be true and fair
let them know
that when they come back
i’ll be here waiting
my world has gone back to black
what i feel for them
is engrained inside me now
and it feels as though the universe has crashed upon me
i’ll try to not be slowed down
i’ll keep working on our goals
even if they’re not with me
because i’m still going to be there
no matter if we’re both free
gods and goddesses
if you’re out there
please help them heal
please be true and fair
i’ll keep my promises
and fall for no other
and wait on the sidelines
i feel like i’m turning into my mother
everywhere i look
you’re there, in memory
each look around is a stab to the chest
stick me like a board of emery
i’m walking around
looking for something
i realize it’s you that i look for
i shouldn’t worry about a thing
gods and goddesses
if you’re out there
please help them heal
please be true and fair
falling apart at the seams
building my walls back up
as soon as i see you
they’ll tighten and blowup
what i’m saying is that
i’ll always love you
even if that means from a distance
and watch you tear yourself apart like an old shoe
i just want to hold you
through all of your pain
but you’d rather fight your battle alone
and i’ll respect that, albeit in vain
so just remember
that i’ll always see you
as my perfectly imperfect moonlight
even if my heart is black and blue
te amo ex toto corde meo ♥️
About this poem
