As the old year goes by and the new year begins

I woke up in the morning and it was a new year. The old year was fun but I wish it would disappear. I think about it every day wishing this year won't be the same, but before I keep going I think I'm getting older every day. Every day I think about life and how hard it was and how boring and frustrating this year could become.
I tell myself life is what you make of it so don’t make yourself feel dumb. As the new year begins and the old year dies, I'm going to do right and watch the sunrise, watch the new year leaves grow on the trees, and watch the old year leaves drop to the ground all in between.

Some people say new year, new me but I don't believe in that or anything. I believe in being a better person and making memories or having fun with the family.
Life is what you make of it I say again as the old year goes by and the year begins. The new year is cool but not when I'm at school but the old year was the worst so I'm not going to be cruel. I woke up in the morning and it was a new year so let's get ready for the old year to disappear but with family and friends with no fear.
