The Treasure is Worth the Hunt

I wish I could go back in time
And tell myself it’ll be alright
That I know the road ahead looks rough
But the treasure is worth the hunt

The bumps and the scratches shape you as a person
The blinding lights get your eyes used to the glare

The foul stench of dread that surrounds you
Is prepping your nose for the smell of joy
A lovely scent that when you smell it you can’t stop
It flows through your veins and takes over your mind

Your eyes will no longer be clouded in sorrow
Your vision clear as can be
The colors so vibrant you can almost taste them

A taste sweet and pure
And it fills you up from just one bite

I wish I could go back in time
And tell myself it’ll be alright
That I know the road ahead looks rough
But the treasure is worth the hunt
