Half the time

Frantasia Fryer A.k.A Remixkidd 1997 (Charlotte,North Carolina)

Time is just a thing we use

to know

The days have passed

I use time

To count the years

I’ve Lived and never laughed

Half the time I sit alone

And peer inside my mind

Dreaming of someone to love

And help me pass the time

Yesterday was full of clouds

With winds that teased of rain

Sitting by and waiting there

For rain that never came

And there you were

A walking dream

That briefly caught my eye

I knew you were the perfect one

To help me pass the time

Half the time

I’m more engaged

In how the world

Is flawed

I never stop

To take it in

And marvel

Dusk to dawn

My pessimistic

Views on life

Don’t make for

Joyful talks

But you seemed like

The one for me

Just blissful quiet walks

Round and round

We seem to go

Just like a childrens game

My careful thoughts

Are laid to rest

In case you feel the same

Poetry is broken words

we throw

Onto a page

I use my words

To show the world

They’ll never see my face

Half the time

I fantasize

About a life of bliss

And coming home

To you at night

Is something that

I’d miss

I look into

Your lonely eyes

And know

That were the same

A girl without a friend to love ,

A dog without a Name

Time is full of crazy things

Like loss

And bitter pain

But time can be the thing

We need

To help each other change.

About this poem

Half the time is about two lost souls finding their way to each other.
