Trampled

We flyscast into the wind with hopes like strings into the unattainable bliss
On sudden whims we latch onto willowy tendrils of gossamer
(three seconds weightless)
before we bleed out hands pulled earthward to fall and die on hard pavement
And in our last moments
we stare at pinholes of light poked through black construction paper
meanwhile trampled by masses who walk through life in shoes adorned with eyes to catch the blood
