In Too Deep

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

If it’s as near as I can tell
If they don’t turn they’re going to hell

With one foot in the grave already
They’re way off course and running steady

They’re swimming in the depths out there
Though called they won’t come up for air

If they could see the mess they’re in
They’d probably stop rejecting Him

Oh no that’s right they’re happy too
That’s why I feel so sad for you
