Freedom
Akinyemi Toheeb 1995 (Oyo state)
Freedom
When the fantasy is naked,
And the Reality set sail,
The wind blow in the opposite direction.
Oh freedom, I’m still a slave to fear.
The obstacle to take off, to thrive;
It’s good been around good people,
But better been with your best self.
Oh god, Why is solitude still scary?
Enjoying the moment alone
It takes a lot to realize you control your life
Ability not lose yourself to fit in
Oh freedom, you’re still a stranger!
Take some glance at those lines
Could you see freedom isn’t a lie?
The ability to go the million marathon
To fly and to believe!
