A Great Dance

I thought it was wise
To cut you out
If only I'd seen through future eyes
That justify my doubt

Not everyday but many
I find my mind stuck on you
But I was busy chasing pennys
And now it's something I wish to undue

Alas I can't for you have a new life
And I'm soon to be off chasing a dream
Which cuts like a double edged knife
If only given a chance I'd do my best to redeem

For you I was, am still willing to bleed
I tried to be there in good times and bad
But still I guess I'm not what you need
Yet at times, I still want back what we had

You said I worked too much
And that I kept odd hours
Despite all that I tried to stay in touch
Across all the miles I clung to what was ours
