TOO LATE

Poem by :Brian Nkereuwem Kelvin.
TOO LATE

Half of the world went out of flames.
Like a screech would wipe out the board marker's note, timed
As a student would motion tutor.
Hands raised objecting but too late ,it is gone.

Too late lifes' final Breathe.
Don't forget to breathe for me.
your final words dearer than gold.
Families decapitated by the evil
may hope in the other un end of Breathe within the winds untimed.

Too late the worst we did not.
Too late the ones we did could not hold back the hands of time.
It's a new clime in the sands of time.
The worst feared came upon us when every nation feared fear, closing on trades.

Too late vaccines are out.
Like other predicaments of past beckoned.
But the candles which did burn
Are already put out before the struck of another match stick.
the evil wind insistent,no guards to the candle sticks.
And life is gone too soon.
Though some  still burned to the bottom.

About this poem

This poem talks about the predicament of covid 19 on the world and the time of life . The word 'Screech' in stanza one is my colloquial word and poetic licence for the word 'ERASER'.The futility of life is seen in the last stanza ,reflecting on those who survive as future targets of Death.
