I am but a puny soldier

I am humbled by your magnanimity
Oh life, I am but a puny human
A soldier on your way
Losing my battle every night
But waking up every day
Yet another to get past, on my way

But through the pain, disbelief, and suffering
I see you every day
A little bit clearer, every step of the way
My reflection I see through you, your grace,
Never knew the strength, endurance, love for another
Had it not been that way

And so, here I stand today
Ready for yet another
But please be kind, this time
For I am but a puny soldier
Humbled to my knees before you
Life, oh mighty life…
