Never More the Devil’s Slave

I stiffen at the gory thought
Cadaver to the morgue was brought
Two deadly bullet holes the cause
Angry shooter wouldn't pause
To mob some silly debt not paid
Send him to sweet St. Peter's gate!
His kids now victims, orphans innocent
No justification and no recompense.
Victim in late terrible teens an addict, user
Stubborn, know-it-all, dealer and abuser
Born and grew up in the hood
Consequences never understood
Wrong crowd, booze, women, stolen goods
Caught, sentenced to juvenile
Stubborn, wise guy now his style.
Tragic, too late
Inevitable fate
Scenario in poverty rehearsed
Unjust society is cursed
The bugs and insects busy in your grave
You are no more the devil's slave
Leave ruin broken hearts behind
The search for peace you'll never find
