Darkness

Eyes focused at the corner of her room
She searched for solace in the darkness,
Blood rushing through her system
She was immersed in judgement
Vulnerable and raw
She tried to put her melancholy into words
Confronting her contradictory emotions,
She tried to embrace them.
The darkness gave her comfort
The rainbow world failed to give.
The sheets absorbed her tears
And the walls assured her protection
As she unfolded herself.
In the depths of the night,
In unguarded moments like these,
The darkness adhered her
And helped her embody her shine
Just like the moon in the dark galaxy
It sheltered the original ‘her’
Whom she had abandoned to charm others
Darkness,
The world labelled it as grim and painful
But for her,
It became her greatest advocate.
