Things i wish i would never remember

Light from the streetlamp dances across the dark dreary road
Shadows on walls chase me
I run faster against the whipping breeze
finding a field of clover i fall to my knees
I look up to the enchanted sky
and allow the flickering of stars to encompass my mind
The galaxy within my heart is barely beating
as the whispering trees begin sleeping
I hear the river waves crashing against the lungs in my chest
The grass begs me to lay down and rest
I close my eyes rewinding the pain
my cheeks reflect a water stain
My broken dreams fall from the clouded sky
painting a nightmare in my mind
In my nightmare the moon is blue
i asked it why, it responded its not me its you
The sky bleeding red makes an ominous sound, my world turns upside down
A compass arrow spins and never stops
along the silver lining of the tree tops
Flashes of neon warp my mind
waking me up ive lost track of time
Sitting up im surrounded by embers
from things i wish i would never remember

About this poem

This poem is a way of relating the unpleasant experiences in my life to elements found outdoors such as a breeze, field of clover, trees etc. and putting the whirling emotion of never wanting to to remember those unpleasant things into words that hopefully help to visualize the emotion in my mind
