I found true love

Mojalefa Motsumi 1998 (Potchefstroom)

Love is patient, caring, funny, exciting, and sometimes scary to mingle with as it may bring one [out of or] to their comfort zone;
However, isn't that what one wants? From time to time, a shoulder to cry on and a shoulder to offer is urgently necessary.

Love and nothing but its power doesn't know how to call it quits.
Love covers all weaknesses;
It echoes great strength.
It's like one who had expected a beautiful treasure, and after obtaining it; In its condition - broken, rusted, or empty,
The individual rejoices that he'd finally gotten what he'd sought out for ages.

Obsession? It's not!
Supposedly the crazy feeling I don't seem to comprehend -
I hope it was expressed in any encyclopedia, dictionary, or a thesaurus.
Will I even ever locate it in a globe or rather in an atlas? Can't I just see it with my naked eyes?

I'm so fascinated already,
For it brings excessive hope, wisdom, and growth.
It's worth my attention,
Because I was incapacitated before,
Yet, now, I'm endowed with strength!

About this poem

The poem was written to the beloved weeks after separation; thus the lover was reflecting on memories they shared together. It's more of a thanksgiving, however, also romantic in some ways.
