Ghost

"A shadow moved past the dark window"
I was laying awake in bed It was 10 past midnight
I usually sleep with a light on
But my lamp was broken
Moonlight flooded in through my window

It was shining through my curtain
Making the blue blanket look like an ocean
I was trying to sleep, but my stomach had a weird ache
I didn't know what I'd eaten
I was entranced by my blanket

And the way the moon was shining
Until my room went dark like the moon had disappeared Then the light was back
I was sitting there wondering what it was
I had a feeling it could be a robber

But then I heard small giggles
For some reason, I heard them from outside
"Is that outside my window"
I quickly got up to check When I opened my window... BAM! I fell on my butt

Where I was looking, there was a girl standing
Wait, Is she floating?
I was in shock from what I was seeing
Next thing I knew, she was in my room
My brain didn't even register she was laughing

When I broke out of the shock I asked what her name was She told me, "My name is Angel"
I was wondering what she was doing here
As if she could read my thoughts
She said, "I'm looking for a friend"

So I told "I could be your friend"
She smiled and said "Thank you"
Before I could say anything else
She grabbed me and pulled I floated up with her
First I thought "this is amazing I'm really flying"

Until I heard a thud
When I turned around, I saw my body
I realized I was a ghost
I didn't even realize I had tears Rolling down my face "Now we can be friends forever"

She told me with a grin on her face
Before we drifted away with the wind
I saw my parents crying
They must have rushed in after hearing the thud
They were crying next to me

My mother was on the phone
Probably talking to the police I heard her say,
"Yes, he just dropped dead."
My father didn't say anything from the shock
But silent tears were rolling down his face
